Let’s face it, finding the perfect gift for everyone on your gift list is a lot of work. That is exactly why we scoured the streets of Downtown Chandler to help you out this year. We searched high and low for some unique finds to help keep you in good favor and hopefully even elicit a wow from the hard to shop for friends and loved ones.
Let’s start with the youngest among us. Hashtag Current Mood, the newest retailer in downtown Chandler, has some darling items for the babes. Keep babies and toddlers warm and adorable in the cozy ultra plush bathrobes. Perfect for after bath, swims or just for cuddle time. Available in sizes up to toddler.
For the little bit older fashionista, they have soft and snuggly heart print hoodies, sure to keep them both warm and stylish during the cool winter months. Right now they have a full range of girls sizes, but don’t wait, these are irresistibly sweet and sure to sell out quickly.
This is the time of year for giving, but sometimes you need to give a little something to yourself, and Sibley’s West has the perfect accessories to keep your jewelry wardrobe up-to-date. Why not bring a little of that Tumbleweed Christmas Tree spirit all through the year with some Tumbleweed jewelry.
The process to take a prickly desert plant and turn it into colorful jewelry is fascinating. Wouldn’t it be nice to wear a little reminder of our very own Tumbleweed Christmas tree all year.
Still looking for gifts for the hard to please? How about a Cash Cow? Jan Johnson, local artist from Sun Lakes, makes unique home accessories. The Cash Cow piggy bank would be a great reminder to save some pennies for the next vacation or maybe it's your moo-vie money.
Do you have some hardcore outdoorsy types on your list? Head over to Blue Planet Outdoors and grab a solar powered inflatable light. It is sure to keep shining all year long with our Arizona sun providing the power. Your choice of white lights, multicolor, or if you are more a do-it-yourselfer, they have a kit so you can build your own.
If you do more than just talk about keeping Arizona beautiful, help out by wearing something from Keep It Wild Co. apparel. The company's motto is, “We believe in standing for what we stand on.” By using 10% of profits to host and fund wilderness cleanups, the Keep it Wild community has removed over 23,000 pounds of trash in 2017. They invite their fans to do more than just wear the clothes. Followers are encouraged to make a difference by lending a hand and then posting about their contributions on social media.
You are going to need some serious boots if you are out helping keep Arizona beautiful and there is nowhere better to find boots than Saba’s Western Wear.
Celebrating 90 years this year, Saba's has one of the largest boot selections in all Arizona. Stop in and find the friendliest helpers in town to outfit your entire family with the perfect fitting pair.
Have a shoe diva on your list? Then Shoe Thrill should be a definite stop on your shopping to-dos. If you have a hard to please, fashion forward loved one, this is the place to find one of a kind, out of the ordinary, five star footwear. These wine colored booties are custom designed for Shoe Thrill. The manufacturer made one run and when they're gone, they are really gone. The people here will take the time to match you with the perfect shoe that will really thrill all season long.
Now that you have checked off some gifts on this year's holiday list, it's time for your reward. San Tan Brewery just released the very limited run of the seasonal favorite Winter Warmer. Based on a traditional English Old Ale recipe and served with housemade Ginger Snap cookies, there isn't a better way to close out a successful holiday shopping outing.
Everything's coming up pumpkin
From one end to the other Downtown Chandler is a brimming with the flavor of fall.
If you are one of the millions that have become obsessed with all things pumpkin once the calendar strikes autumn head downtown and let us satisfy the cravings.
You won’t need to go far once you arrive, start at Peixoto Coffee, their offering of Butter Pumpkin Chai is a great way to start the fall taste journey. A delicious blend of chai and pumpkin is a treat for the taste buds.
Now that you have your starter make your way down the colonnade and drop into Original Chop Shop Co. for a wide range of pumpkin pastries, freshly made and full of fall flavor. Once your tummy is full, wander aross the street and step into Sibley’s West for some calorie-free pumpkin love. Not only do they have hand-crafted ceramic jack-o-lanterns that will brighten up any space with their oh, so cute expressions, but you can take home a bar of pumpkin pie soap and literally bathe in the flavor of the season.
As you leave Sibley’s your nose may catch the lovely aroma from Downtown Chandler Café and Bakery. They stand ready to please your taste buds with a wide variety of pumpkin treats. Time for a shot of caffeine? Go crazy and get a Pumpkin Spice Latte and a pumpkin scone, if you’re really hungry, dive into the Pumpkin Pancakes, they are definite palate pleasers.
Since we live in Arizona and you never know when it will actually feel like fall, you might want to keep your cool with a frozen pumpkin treat. Paletas Betty will have Pumpkin Pie Paletas joining the rotation this season. And if you want to really indulge your sweet tooth and your pumpkin craving, head over to Ice Cream Sammies for a Pumpkin Pie Snickerdoodle Sammie. You can choose any ice cream to go inside, but the staff says the homemade Pumpkin Pie ice cream is a pumpkin lovers dream come true.
If you are looking for a more exclusively adult pumpkin flavor, Bourbon Jack’s, Murphy’s Law and The Local are glad to oblige. Bourbon Jack’s has 4 Peaks Pumpkin Porter scheduled to arrive any day and Murphy’s Law is now pouring Dogfish Head Punkin’ Ale, The Local is restocking their pumpkin taps so check back to see what is available.
Of course, you will find all sorts of fresh pumpkin treats at the Farmer’s Market during the season. From bread to cupcakes, you won’t be disappointed. The pumpkin porter cupcakes from Bottom’s Up Bakery are something special. And the Pumpkin loaf from Great Harvest Bread Co. makes a great gift for your sweet neighbor who picks up your newspaper when you are out of town.
Can’t eat another pumpkin spice morsel? That’s okay; let Lauren Snow Beauty slather it on your skin. Schedule a visit to for the vitamin C, and beta-carotene rich Pumpkin Fall Facial series. The glow on your cheeks will carry you through the season.
They say all things in moderation, but from the sounds of it, that doesn’t apply to anything that has to do with pumpkin.
But, alas, if you say bah-humbug to the pumpkin craze, Wimpy’s Paradise has declared a pumpkin-free zone, as safe place for the few that don’t appreciate this obsession. As always, there is something for everyone in The DC.
90 years ago the first chisel chipped away at the granite of Mount Rushmore, Charles Lindbergh made the first solo flight across the Atlantic, Babe Ruth set a MLB home run record and Saba’s Western Wear opened for business in Downtown Chandler.
There is something special in the world of big box stores and online retailers when you have a shop in the neighborhood that is celebrating their 90th year in business. David Saba opened the original store in 1927, overcoming many obstacles along the way, including the great depression. In August of 1931 Saba recalls total receipts from the store at only $375, yet he was able to make it through the rough patches and not only survive, but thrive. When JC Penney decided to leave the downtown location and move on to the Tri-City Mall in Mesa, Saba’s grabbed the opportunity to move into the location, triple the size of the previous space. It is pretty safe to say that almost everything about doing business has changed over the past nine decades, but there is one constant that has sustained Saba’s for so long; the way that they care for their customers. This has been the Saba family secret all along. Their motto all along has been, Satisfaction Guaranteed, never too large to know you and appreciate you, but large enough to offer the finest merchandise at sensible prices, a motto that has stood the test of time.
As we celebrate the history of Saba’s, we also welcome a new socially responsible restaurant to the district. Although Even Stevens just opened their doors, they celebrate the rich history of their location. This very modern restaurant is housed in the former Arrow Pharmacy location. The owners paid homage to the past with a mural depicting the old apothecary shop on the wall, the cleverly placed letters above the front door, as well as retaining the original, century old crown molding and tin ceiling. But don’t be fooled by the nod to the past, the founder of the chain, Steve Down is proud to be ushering in a brand new way of doing business. “Capitalism must become kinder, gentler, and more compassionate. When businesses are centered on a cause, they often achieve wild success." says Down. He sees ‘Cause Capitalism’ as a way of connecting the millennial generation to the world of business. The Chandler location marks the 16th location for the brand. By partnering with local non-profits in each market, including ICAN, AZcend, and My Sister’s Place at the Chandler store, Even Stevens has provided nearly two million meals to those in need.
These two distinctly different businesses offer a glimpse into just how we embrace our community by genuinely caring about the people who live, shop and work here.
Come explore the options, we grow and change every day, but we plan to keep the special touches that make our downtown a hometown to so many.

Before I dive in, let's lay some foundations that I'm sure everyone knows, but like the flight attendant going through the safety procedures, kindly give me your attention. All of these places ask that your dog is well-behaved, not barking or roaming and isn't aggressive to other dogs... Basically, make sure your 'kiddo' is actually ready for this experience.
Now that we have that out of the way, on to the fun stuff.
The following restaurants all have dog-friendly patios; some go above and beyond and offer water bowls, and even treats for your four-legged friend.
ChopShop Co., the local health foodie hotspot has a dog friendly patio! The patio also has some umbrellas/shade and some oversized lawn games for the humans of your group.
Murphy's Law Irish Pub
Want to get a pint with your pup by your side? Murphy's Law Irish Pub has a dog-friendly patio. Order up some fish and chips and enjoy.
Wimpy's Paradise offers house-made burgers that taste like a summertime barbecue. The meals are affordable, and dogs are welcomed at the outside seating.
Ice Cream Sammies:
Wanting to cool down with some ice cream? Ice Cream Sammies has a picturesque patio with white picnic tables, lawn games, and hanging lights. Bring that pup along because they have dog 'cookies' from Gryphen Speciality Products and Services, an organization who’s mission is to help train and employ adults within our community that have developmental disabilities.
Bring your dog and get some greens, because Crisp Greens allows dogs at their outdoor seating. Set a good example to your fur baby and get that serving of vegetables through their wraps, salads, sandwiches and juices.
Want to still enjoy a foodie lifestyle, but also with your dog? VB Lounge allows dogs on their patio and they'll provide water for your buddy. We recommend getting their pork belly 'lollipops' and funnel cake for dessert.
Another dog-friendly patio is Crust Chandler. Why not recreate the Lady and the Tramp scene with your furry friend? We promise no judgement.
It's Arizona, in the summer...it's hot. Cool down with your pup by heading to Paletas Betty. They sell paletas (a Mexican popsicle) and 'perroletas,' paletas for dogs that include a rawhide instead of a wooden stick. Plus, they also have water bowls.
La Stalla Cucina Rustica
Head over to the dog-friendly patio at La Stalla Cucina Rustica for some wine-ing and dine-ing.
SanTan Brewing Co.
Want to really spoil your pooch? Head on down to SanTan Brewing Co. to visit their dog friendly patios. They'll give your buddy a bowl of water and FREE spent grain peanut butter dog treats when you and your fellow roll-up.

For the dad that likes to create; take him to TechShop Chandler for the day and get that project done that he's been wanting to do since forever. All fathers will get a free day pass at the Chandler TechShop on Father's Day.
Crust Chandler is giving dads an entree or specialty dish of choice, on them, at the Dad's Eat Free Father's Day event.
Paletas Betty will have a buy one get one free paleta deal for dads.

Whether you're celebrating a graduation, birthday, wedding, bridal shower, baby shower, or anything in between, you're most likely searching for a restaurant that will be able to host your special event. These locally-owned businesses in downtown Chandler are the perfect spot to host your event:
SanTan Brewing Co.
SanTan Brewing Co.'s private room is a popular space for rehearsal dinners, corporate events, and even weddings. The space includes both an indoor space and outdoor space, and can hold a maximum capacity of 130 people.
They let you choose from plated entrees, stationed appetizers, or buffets (or combos of these options), and work with you to determine your perfect menu. It's a beautiful, modern space with red brick, stainless steel brew tanks and neutral-colored dining tables and chairs.
Cost varies greatly depending on your date, your menu, and the way you choose to serve your food. They also offer catering services, including kegs. Contact Kaitlin Godziela for more information; email@example.com & (480) 710-6603.
Looking for something dramatic and special? The speakeasy, The Ostrich, is available for large parties and even restaurant buy outs.
The cost associated with renting the space depends on your number of guests and the time of the week; the venue fee can be as little as $95. One caveat: they don't allow you to rent the space out on a Friday or Saturday night. There is a virtual tour of the space available at this link.
To inquire about booking, call: (480) 917-4903
VB Lounge is another restaurant with a private dining space available for special occasions. The capacity for the room is 40 guests, and the venue cost depends on seating arrangements, presentations, event-type and date.
The room does not have a minimum if booked on a weekday. The restaurants evoke feelings of new age Hollywood glamour, perfect for a special occasion.
Contact them for more information at: (480) 284-7447
La Stalla Cucina Rustica
If you're wanting to make a large reservation and still have the intimate feeling of a private room, we recommend La Stalla Cucina Rustica, where, they take reservations and can divide the dining room space into smaller, more secluded areas.
The atmosphere is warm and elegant, with white table cloths, a brick oven, a wine list and delicious Italian food. Call them at (480) 855-9990 to make a reservation.
Restaurants that allow you to show up (no reservations required, first come, first served) with your large party:
Perhaps you're a bit 'late to the party' in setting the reservations for your gathering. Procrastinators rejoice because the following businesses are open to you coming in and pushing tables together for your group.
Ice Cream Sammies
Ice Cream Sammies has a patio that can seat 15-20 people. The patio is first come, first serve, so there is no charge for the space. Also, it's dog-friendly!
The space is relaxed with umbrellas, picnic tables and large yard games to play like corn hole and Giant Jenga. The space has been used for baby showers, birthday parties, bridal showers and other gatherings of friends and family.
While they don't accept reservations, or reserve the space, they suggest calling in to let them know your party is coming a day or more ahead of time so they can make sure to have their staff ready to help you with your party needs: (480) 739-9221
Last on our list is ChopShop Co. Chandler, like Ice Cream Sammies, they have a side patio that sits 15-20 people. Dogs are allowed in this area, and they also have lawn games to play. Since you cannot reserve the space, there is no fee to use the area.
The patio is located under the breezeway, so you have some coverage if you're looking for a reprieve from the sunshine. The vibe is casual.

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day. Now that you've stopped the mental cheering/dancing at your office desk, let me fill you in on the St. Patrick's Day activities that will be doing on in downtown Chandler. The best part is the events are very different in nature; one for those that are ready to party and another for those looking for an art/culture fix. In addition, a merchant in the downtown will have Irish food specials and live music. Go for the (pot of) gold, and experience them all.Read More

Who ya gonna call when you have no weekend plans? Your mom, your sister, your partner? Well dial them up and let them know that Friday night plans are set because the Family Flicks Art Walk is this Friday, Feb. 17. Grab a blanket, find your spot on the grassy lawn of Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, and enjoy the original Ghostbusters movie. Oh, did we mention this event is free-to-attend?
Here's a run down on the activities that will be happening for the night.
· Arizona Ghostbusters group (yes, they'll be bringing a Marshmallow Man and a Ghostbusters vehicle) will be doing a costume contest. Dress as a ghost or dress as a Ghostbuster. Let's see which side wins... Costume contest is at 6:30 p.m.
· East Valley Engineering for Kids will be providing a green slime activity for the kids (or kids at heart) from 6-7 p.m. Because, what's a Ghostbusters event without some green slime?
· Chandler Christian Community Center will be accepting new socks and underwear for their program iHelp, which helps those experiencing homelessness. You can win a $50 gift card to a Downtown Chandler business if you bring items to donate.
· Murphy's Law Irish Pub will be giving free green apple cider as supplies last.
· For the first time, this event will be tied with the Chandler Art Walk, so you can also shop local artisans.
· Oh yeah, and we'll have a foam machine. *drops mic*
You don't even need to hide your Twizzlers in your purse because you're allowed to bring your own snacks and beverages (non-alcoholic beverages only please). There will also be popcorn for purchase.
This event kicks off a weekend of science in Downtown Chandler. The following day, on Saturday, Feb. 18 is the City of Chandler's Science Spectacular event.
The event runs 6-9:30 p.m., movie starts at 6:30 p.m. Address for the event is:

If you've started to notice all the pink and red hearts, you have probably realized Valentine's Day is quickly approaching. We know you like to procrastinate, but it's time to make those plans. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night, a gift for a loved one, or something to do with your friends or little ones, downtown Chandler has you covered.
They make your life simple by offering a special flavor; called their San Valentin flavor; it's strawberry with a dark drizzle (excuse us, got a lil' drool on the keyboard), and letting you order online. Yes. Online. You're probably reading this while sitting in pjs and mopping the sweat off your forehead as you realize you haven't made any plans, but you're also lazy, like us. Fear not! Just go to their website (or GrubHub, or Ubereats - you have options), and order your sweetheart, your friend, your sister, some delicious paletas.
SanTan Brewing Co.
It's a win-win for couples that have both a brew-loving partner, and another that's more interested in the food (raises hand *cough* me *cough*). Support local by ordering one of their house made beers and something off their special Valentine's menu.
Sibley's West: The Chandler and Arizona Gift Shop
Okay, but what about those loved ones that prefer a tangible gift, something they can hang on to? Please don't get one of those generic teddy bears from Walmart again. Instead, call up the good people at Sibley's West and order one of their Valentine gift baskets. It includes 1lb. assorted chocolates, a votive candle with heart-shaped ceramic holder, a lavender eye pillow (to steal the night after Valentine's Day, because you can finally relax, you did good kid), and 2 oz. lotion (because we live in a desert and it's dry). All of these items usually cost $60, but they're offering a special of $49.95 while supplies last because they're charitable and they probably really don't want your loved one to have to get another synthetic teddy bear again.
Burst of Butterflies - Create & Paint Studio
Looking to add some romance a la the iconic Ghost ceramic scene? Or maybe just something fun to do while you talk about how there are no good options available with your girlfriends? How about that little one in your life that just ate a whole box of sweethearts and is now bouncing off the walls? Head on down to Burst of Butterflies Art Studio for one of their many classes they're offering for the week of Valentine's day. Offerings include a heart fused glass project and BYOB painting on canvas classes. In addition, they're offering 14% off (Get it? No? You really need to be better at looking at your calendar) all pottery and canvas painting, all day on Valentine's Day. That day will be kid-friendly from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and turns into BYOB (beer or wine, you crazies) Adult Date Night from 6-9 p.m. Visit their website for more information and to sign up for a class.
Hello love birds; this one is for you! Sit across from that special someone at DC Steakhouse and enjoy their special Steak and Lobster Valentines Sweetheart Dinner. They'll be offering the dinner all-week-long (into the weekend). Don't forget to add some of their wine in for good measure.
Chandler Center for the Arts
You've stared into each other's eyes long enough that it's time to look at something else. Enter the Chandler Center for the Arts. Enjoy the Sunday, Feb. 12, at 3 p.m. showing of National Dance Company of Ireland's Rhythm of Dance at a special of buy one get one free. Just mention you would like the Downtown Chandler Valentines Special when you stop by or call. Limited quantities, so dance to it!
Maybe your loved one loves wine. Therefore, they need a lot of wine glasses. Enter TechShop Chandler. They'll have an Etched Wine Glass Date Night on Valentine's night. For those looking for something to do with their little ones, they'll also have a Tie Dye Night and a plushy 'love craft' build night earlier in the week.
The Brickyard Downtown
Score some major brownie points and schedule reservations at one of downtown Chandler's newest hotspots, The Brickyard Downtown. They're offering a 4-course dinner ($65++ per person) with an optional (do it) cocktail pairing ($35 per person). Call for reservations; 480.963.1373.
Lauren Snow Beauty
This one is for the ladies. Those familiar with the show Parks and Recreation should recall Galentine's Day. Now, you too can enjoy this holiday Leslie Knope style, sans waffles. Lauren Snow Beauty, a new merchant to our downtown, is hosting a Galentine's Day Bash on Thursday, Feb. 16, from 7-9 p.m. Kendra Scott will have a pop-up Color Bar shop at 15% off and Couple of Bartenders will be serving up sips while you shop. Finishing things off, Lauren Snow Beauty will offer complimentary makeup touch-up and they'll give $10 off your first service if you book an express facial.
The perfect spot for a couple with an affinity for country music, dancing, and good times is Bourbon Jack's. They'll have surprise (you'll just have to wait and see) Valentine's Day food specials and they'll have free two-step dance lessons starting at 7:30 p.m. They promise the lessons are perfect for all levels of dancers, even those with two left feet. You're welcome to even attend Han Solo style (sans date).
Cup O'Karma: A Community Café for a Cause (inside the Downtown Chandler Library)
For those who have never been, the Cup O'Karma coffee shop is a hidden gem. Yes, it may be a bit scary trying to find the place if you're against libraries (we hope not), but all you have to do it enter the main entrance of the library and then a hang a right to find this coffee spot. This a coffee shop with heart, they remind us that February is also Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month and they'll be accepting donations at the shop to spread awareness. Any donation over $5 scores a free stuffed animal. The cherry on top? Their specialty drink this month is a White-Mocha Raspberry Latte, can be served ice, hot or frappe-style to keep up with the ever-evolving weather.
