Channel Your Chill with these Cocktails

Category: Features

Did you know the cure for the summer heat is a stiff drink? Okay, that may not be actual medical advice but it’s still a good theory worth trying out.

We’re listing just a few of the MANY delicious and refreshing cocktails made by our award-winning mixologists to help you channel your chill.

The Hidden House
What once stood as an empty home from 1939 on Commonwealth Avenue has become a beautiful gathering place for the community thanks to co-owners Gavin Jacobs and Elliot Hall. Fans of sister-restaurant, The Brickyard Downtown, will instantly appreciate the exquisite attention to detail in both the food and cocktail menu. Head mixologist, Bobby Kramer, put his passion into creating a rotating cocktail menu with seasoned staples and fun new twists.

Feeling adventurous: THREE DOTS & A DASH
Comprised of their Hidden House rum blend, Falernum, Allspice Dram, honey, orange juice, lime, & bitters.

A Classic: Mojito with Bacardi, mint, lime and soda

The Brickyard Downtown
Speaking of The Brickyard, the mixology team also led by Kramer did not create your everyday cocktail menu. Instead, they designed a 15-page rotating library of cocktails that includes classics, custom recipes and hall of fame favorites. But this team doesn’t just stick to the script so to speak. They love a good challenge so feel free to ask for their recommendation or to have some special created.

Feeling adventurous: “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”
Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this, The Tale of the Bogart from Saturn: One Fateful Tiki Night Off the Sour Shores of Trinidad. A story about a light, refreshing passionfruit martini that met a sudden unsuspected dark and bitter end.

A Classic: Hemingway Daiquiri with rum, maraschino, lime, grapefruit and simple syrup

In addition to cocktails, you’ll find standout options like old fashioneds and highballs.

Feeling Adventurous: French 75
Citrus rose gin, lemon, prosecco

A Classic: Cherry Lime with Limleaf vodka, sprite and cherry bitters

The Ostrich
Half the fun in going to The Ostrich is finding it! But because we’re friends, we’ll let you in on a little secret. Our resident speakeasy can be found by following the red light near Crust Simply Italian. That’s all we can say! Well that and a little bit more about why you need to visit.

The Ostrich pays homage to the rich history of Chandler and its founder Dr. A.J. Chandler with classic interior and timeless service. The modern twists come in the form of pop culture décor elements like mug shots from Snoop Dogg and Sirius Black.

Feeling adventurous: Patio Pounder
Bulleit bourbon, fresh lemon, peach puree, honey ginger syrup, bitters and aperol

A Classic: Old Fashioned
Four Roses Bourbon, Overholt Rye, JW Black Scotch, simple syrup and bitters
