Request for Proposals now being accepting for the City-owned “ICAN building”

Chandler, Ariz. – The City of Chandler is seeking proposals from developers interested in developing the vacant “ICAN building.” This City-owned property is located at 201 S. Washington St., on the southeast corner of Washington and Chicago streets in the urban core of downtown Chandler. There are two existing buildings on the .53-acre site, which is across the street from Chandler City Hall, and nearly a mile north of the San Tan Freeway (Loop 202).

The City’s desire is to identify a team that has vision, experience and the financial strength and capacity to transform this under-utilized property in a manner that delivers significant, tangible and measurable social, cultural and economic impact to the City and the community. The ultimate goal of the proposal is to negotiate a lease for the building to create a signature restaurant/entertainment venue.

Proposals are due by 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12 (Arizona time). There also will be a pre-proposal conference meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Chandler City Hall, 175 S. Arizona Ave., second floor, training room B.
