Calling all Engaged Couples: This Event is for you

Chandler, Ariz. – Following the coattails of the holiday season--a popular engagement time, is an event to help couples plan their special day: The Chandler Wedding Walk. On Thursday, Jan. 12, from 4-7 p.m., couples and their friends and families, will walk the historic downtown and meet with merchants that offer services to help them with their wedding planning, from their rehearsal dinner to finding a dress. Plus, guests have a chance to win a raffle prize.

Guests check-in at SoHo63, located at 63 E. Boston St. in Chandler, a locally-owned venue specializing in weddings, where they can tour the space and if they paid the raffle fee, sip on a specialty cocktail. After wrapping up at SoHo63, guests will head west on Boston St. and then head north by San Marcos Pl. Along the way, guests will interact with participating businesses that will be set up along the sidewalks and those that have storefronts along the path. The final stop is the historic gem, the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Hotel, where a mock reception will be available and the raffle prizes will be drawn starting at 7 p.m.

Unlike many bridal shows and expos, this event is free-to-attend. If guests want a chance to win one of the amazing prizes, a $5 raffle ticket fee is available. Guests are encouraged to buy the raffle ticket fee as it also includes a specialty cocktail and the ability to sample food items. “I’d recommend bringing all the people who’s opinion matters and buy a raffle ticket option for each guest. That way, you can pool your tickets together at the end of the night for a better chance of winning a particular prize that appeals to you,” Deanne Fenton, Event Coordinator of the Chandler Wedding Walk says. Over 24 prizes are offered, ranging from $1,000 off a venue rental to a Sunday brunch for two, a great way for the couple to relax the morning after the big day. Winners must be present to win.

“The Chandler Wedding Walk is the perfect way to have some fun on a Thursday night with your partner or maid-of-honor, and knock some items off your ever looming wedding to-do list. You can actually tour the venues, see the space for the rehearsal dinner and sample some food options, all in one night. Plus, when you’re done, you can go to one of the great restaurants in the downtown area and talk over your options,” Fenton says.

Many vendors will be offering day of specials if couples decide to book while at the event.
