Ugly Holiday Sweater Art Walk
Chandler, Ariz. – This winter, the Ugly Holiday Sweater Art Walk returns in downtown Chandler. This family-friendly event is free-to-attend and offers live music and over 35 local artisan booths, where you can do some last minute holiday shopping for friends or yourself. Guests are encouraged to dress festively and don those ugly holiday sweaters that have been gathering dust since last year’s event.
“This is a guest favorite, so we were happy to bring it back again this year,” says Deanne Fenton, Event Coordinator. The event is Friday, Dec. 16 and runs 6-9:30 p.m. Over 35 local artists will set up booths in the downtown square; inside Dr. A.J. Chandler Park west and along San Marcos Pl. starting at SanTan Brewing Co. and moving south. Artists sell a wide range of mediums, from jewelry, woodworking, painting, illustrations, and more. Live music will be provided by American jazz artist Dimitri Matheny from 6:30-9:30 p.m.
To make the night that much more special, guests are encouraged to dine at a local restaurant, visit the event, and then walk the historic square to view the holiday decor. Christmas lights can be found lining Arizona Ave., in Dr. A.J. Chandler Park west and along Boston St., near Burst of Butterflies Pottery and Painting Studio. Grab a coat and something warm from Peixoto Coffee, because there’s also decorated holiday window art for guests to view at participating downtown Chandler merchants.
“Wear that ugly holiday sweater with pride and join us at this free-to-attend event to shop, listen to music, and view some holiday decor to get you in a merry spirit. We’d love for you to join us,” Fenton says.
