Downtown Chandler Community Partnership becomes the first community to offer discounted rides for Waymo Early Riders headed to downtown Chandler
CHANDLER, Ariz. — The Downtown Chandler Community Partnership (DCCP) and Waymo will launch a program that provides Waymo Early Riders savings on trips to Downtown Chandler. The program begins on Friday, Sept. 21, and will offer savings on all trips to eligible Waymo passengers when their destination of choice is Downtown Chandler.
This collaboration with Downtown Chandler Community Partnership marks the first time Waymo has partnered with an organization to offer their riders a discounted trip to a specific destination. Residents interested in becoming an Early Rider may apply online at waymo.com/apply/DTC.
A visit to the Downtown Chandler historic district allows riders the opportunity to explore the variety of locally owned, one-of-a-kind shops and restaurants. Mary Murphy-Bessler, executive director of the Downtown Community Partnership, comments, “This partnership provides an inexpensive and safe new mode of getting our customers to Downtown Chandler. We are excited to be a part of this new experience.”
Waymo was founded on a Google moonshot mission to build self-driving car technology that could help reduce traffic fatalities. Over the past 10 years, their vehicles have undergone the world’s longest, toughest driving tests, completing more than nine million miles and thousands of complex testing scenarios.
